Casper Mattress Reviews

Casper is a fascinating innovator in the bed-in-a-box industry. In general, they explain how a company can shake up a sector of the economy by creating buzz with clever advertising and a hot commodity. Casper's 4D Sleep Technology has resulted in the development of four distinct mattresses (the Wave Hybrid, the Original, the Element, and the Nova Hybrid). They've got something for everyone, and they're keeping up their pioneering heritage with add-ons like Snow Technology, but will they survive in a market where everyone seems to be starting from scratch? Casper’s Specifics

Casper has changed the mattress industry forever. They pioneered the industry with just three layers of foam and have since expanded into a vast selection of mattresses. There are currently 3 hybrid foam/pocketed coil mattresses and 2 all-foam mattresses available. The general consensus among Casper’s satisfied customers is that the company’s mattresses and customer support are excellent. A small percentage of customers expressed dissatisfaction, but these complaints were uncommon.

Quality of Materials

Casper offers two memory foam mattresses and three pocketed coil hybrids, each with its own unique combination of comfort layers. Both customers and Casper’s own team of scientists have put these mattresses through extensive testing. We’ll discuss the materials used in each mattress so you can get a feel for how it will feel when you lay down on it.

Foam Mattresses

The Element Pro and The Original Casper are two of Casper’s mattresses that are made entirely of foam.

The Element Pro is Casper’s entry-level all-foam mattress, and it comes at a price that’s on par with the competition. The Element Pro includes the following:

Layer 1: The woven cover is both comfortable and long-lasting, and it unzips for quick washing.

Second Foam Layer: AirScapeTM perforated breathable viscoelastic foam tops everything else to improve airflow, aid in cooling, and alleviate pressure points. There is a subtle bounce and increased responsiveness to this layer.

Third Layer: High-quality memory foam offers a more gradual response and greater pressure relief.

The bottom layer: Thick base foam is designed to keep you from sinking in and the mattress from sagging.

Casper’s best-selling model is the Original. It has been revised several times over the years, and is now offered in a fully foam variant as well as a hybrid version. The Original, an all-foam model, contains the following components:

Layer 1: Can be removed and washed quickly and easily, setting it apart from competing brands.

Layer 2: AirScape™ perforated breathable foam, located in the top layer, is designed to promote airflow, which in turn aids in cooling and reduces pressure on sensitive areas of the body.

Layer 3: Casper’s revolutionary third layer of foam offers Zoned Support™, which is denser where you need it most (hips, waist, and lower back) and more malleable where you don’t (shoulders), all to keep your spine in its natural curvature.

Layer 4: In order to avoid sinking and sagging, a sturdy base is provided by the fourth and final layer of foam.

Hybrid Mattresses

Three of Casper’s mattresses are hybrids:the Original Casper Mattress Hybrid, the Wave Hybrid, and the Nova Hybrid, their most recent release. A quick rundown of what you’ll find in the first hybrid:

Layer 1: The woven cover makes for a soft and breathable sleeping environment.

Layer 2:AirScape™ perforated breathable foam is used for the top layer because it conforms to your body and allows air to circulate easily, making it cooler and relieving pressure points.

Layer 3:Casper’s Zoned Support™ foam, the mattress’s second layer, helps to keep the body in proper alignment by supporting the spine and torso while also dispersing weight and pressure away from the hips and shoulders.

Layer 4: Resilient springs provide “lift, support, and airflow” in the base layer, and the layer’s firmer border provides additional edge support.

Next, I’ll be dissecting the new hybrid option from Casper, the Nova Hybrid, and explaining how it’s constructed. The contents of the

Nova Hybrid:

Layer 1: You’ll find a puffy, stretchy top layer that envelops your body and improves the feel of the layers beneath it.

Layer 2: The top AirScape™ foam layer is perforated to improve ventilation and provide a luxuriously smooth experience.

Layer 3: AirScape™ foam is used to keep you cool and comfortable while also providing three ergonomically designed zones of support for proper spinal positioning and stress relief.

Layer 4: Casper’s Zone Support™ Pro is the third layer of foam, and it features 7 support zones that work together to alleviate pressure under the shoulders and provide additional support under the lower back, thereby aiding in proper spinal alignment.

Layer 5: This base layer has resilient springs built in to improve “lift, support, and airflow,” and a thicker border around the outside to prevent edges from curling inward.

Finally, we’ll discuss Casper’s other hybrid mattress option, the Wave Hybrid, which is a more luxurious and comfortable option. The Wave Hybrid, like the Nova Hybrid, offers an extra cost cooling upgrade known as Snow Technology. The Wave Hybrid includes the following features:

Layer 1: Many people find that sleeping on the cover that can be removed and washed is the most comfortable option. The QuickCool™ cover is just one part of the Snow Technology upgrade that makes for a refreshingly cool experience.

Layer 2: The bottom layer has springs that provide “lift, support, and airflow,” and the border is thicker and firmer for more reinforcement there.

Layer 3:To further aid in cooling, a second layer of AirScape™ foam is the next comfort layer. This layer features six HeatDeleteTM Bands, which conduct heat away from the body and are part of the Snow Technology premium upgrade.

Layer 4:Casper uses their Zoned Support™ technology in their third comfort layer of AirScape™ foam. The third layer of AirScapeTM is designed to keep you cool while also providing three ergonomic zones with varying firmnesses to support proper spinal alignment.

Layer 5:Zoned Support™ Max and gel pods under the waist and lower back provide the next level of comfort. This layer supports the higher layers while also relieving pressure everywhere on the body.

Layer 6: The base has a more rigid border and springs for added support.

Overall Comfort

Each of these mattresses was made with a specific level of firmness in mind. Most people report feeling comfortable on these mattresses thanks to the innovations they feature, and they have a good medium feel that should suit the needs of most sleepers.

Firmness

All three of Casper’s mattresses are described as medium firmness, though some customers have noted that the Wave Hybrid is a touch softer than either the Original or the Element Pro. Although these are suitable for the vast majority of consumers, they may not be firm enough for some individuals.

Back Pain Relief

These mattresses are recommended for relieving back pain because of their medium firmness, but heavier people may require a firmer mattress due to their increased pressure points.

Cooling

Even though these mattresses are effective at reducing body heat, the foam construction of some models may still cause heat retention for particularly warm sleepers. If you’re one of these people, the Wave Hybrid mattresses’ optional Snow Technology cooling upgrade (available nowhere else) might help you get some rest.

Who Are Casper Mattresses Right For?

Despite the rise in price over time, these mattresses may still be a good option if you are looking for a medium-firm mattress and do not weigh a lot. Our recommended mattresses are available at a variety of price points to accommodate a variety of budgets.

Frequently Asked Questions About Casper

Is the Casper mattress any good?

Most customers are pleased with their Casper mattress, but a few drawbacks have been noted. These include higher prices compared to online competitors and the belief that the mattress is not supportive enough for some sleepers.

What's the deal with box springs and Casper mattresses?

An ideal base for a Casper mattress would be a sturdy platform with closely spaced slats. Solid support can be provided by a foundation, as opposed to the box spring's give.

What is the average lifespan of a Casper mattress?

Although Casper claims their mattresses will last for a full decade, actual durability may be lower. For average-sized sleepers, the lifespan of an all-foam mattress is seven years. There have been complaints from some sleepers about the lack of support in Casper mattresses, which could explain why they don't last as long as advertised.

Is it safe to sleep on a Casper mattress?

The foams used in Casper mattresses meet the low VOC (volatile organic compound) standard set forth by CertiPUR-US®. Furthermore, they do not contain any of the CPSC-prohibited chemicals, including ozone-depleting substances, PBDE flame retardants, mercury, lead, and other heavy metals, formaldehyde, and phthalates. Some people need higher standards of certification because they are sensitive to chemicals.

Which Casper mattress is the best one?

With its affordable starting point, the original Casper mattress has become a customer favourite. Reviews for the hybrid version are more positive than those for the Nova, which is favoured by those who prefer a softer feel and who sleep on their sides.

takes getting used to

Giving it the full 100 days trial before I make my final call. Took some getting used to but overall very impressed so far.

A bit of good and a bit of bad...
4

When I first received my Casper mattress, the box came in beat up condition from UPS. When I opened it up and put it on my frame, it inflated into a weird bowed shape. When I unzipped the cover, I noticed there were chunks of foam that were ripped. Needless to say, I was very unsatisfied. I reached out to Casper and the rep was very nice, helpful and understanding. I just had to send them pictures of the issue and a photo of the tag on the mattress and they got back to me in a reasonable amount of time. They sent me a replacement mattress that didn’t have the same issue of bowing out or ripped foam, luckily, because the new UPS box came in even worse shape than the first one. They were going to have 1-800 got junk pick up the first mattress where they would try to find a place to donate the mattress to. They were great with letting me donate it to a battered women’s shelter instead. All I had to do was send a photo of the donation receipt. The new mattress is nice, firmer than I thought it would be but a good bed nonetheless. I just bought a Serta sleeper mattress topper and now it’s like sleeping on a cloud. So all in all, my Casper experience was a mix of good and bad. Customer service was top notch which made the difference between me just sending the mattress back altogether and giving them a second chance to make things right. I recommend that the company take a look at their delivery model and how they can improve the quality of product delivery. They give up some element of quality control when it leaves their warehouse and gets into UPS’ hands. I had requested signature required on my delivery to make sure I was home when it was delivered and not left on my doorstep for someone to steal. Needless to say, I was at work when I got a notification that my package had been delivered and came home to it, luckily, sitting on my doorstep. Anyway, there’s my experience in a nutshell.

Good buy good price
4

The delivery and setup experience was amazing. Everyone was friendly, flexible and helpful. We are still adjusting to the mattress but overall it has been comfortable. It’s a little firmer the what we would typically purchase but but we are slowly adjusting. The overall quality appears to be great.

Nice Mattress
4

Delivery was simple and easy. We slept pretty well the first night. I think it will take some getting use to because we are accustomed to a pillow top mattress.

Pros & Cons
3

It keeps me cool. I like that. Firmer then our temperpedic Body aches less, but still aches. Wife can feel me move around, but not in our temperpedic. Temperpedic has started to form little cavities where we slept for 7 years. Center is still firm and is comfortable. Temper is heat trapping machine, yours is not. Favorite part about it.

Casper

Bought for guest room. Tried it out alone and then with my husband. It is way too soft, for a night or two maybe fine but definetly not a choice for longer than that

Too soft for me
1

Yes!

CASPER lacks CUSTOMER Servic
1

I purchased an adjustable Casper bed frame which was assembled via “White Glove” delivery and left in my home despite the fact that the fabric base had mutiple tears. I bought the Wave mattress which was recommended with the base specifically because I have back issues and I wanted the benefit of the zero gravity position. Unfortunately, the mattress is too thick and does not bend with the base. It’s okay but I still awaken with sciatic pain and it definitely is not worth the money. Besides the customer service is awful.

Thanks
4

Overall it’s very comfortable. Unfortunately after 10 days is still detectable odor.

We tried Purple first.
4

We did a LOT of research for mattresses. Even with some negative info out there about the Purple Mattress, we still thought it would be best for us. We ultimately returned it. Then we got the Casper. Both my husband and I have been very comfortable and satisfied with the Casper. We have been sleeping well with it, and don’t wake up with any pain or issues. It feels good getting into (and out of…the edges are actually quite sturdy), and it feels perfectly supportive while being cozy and comfy.

Wonderful
4

The unboxing was awesome. The sleep has been great.

so so
3

i find it a bit LUMPY when i am on my back. seems strange since it is supposed to be foam.

So good
3

So good

Not as comfortable as hoped.
2

It’s overrated. I wouldn’t buy a bed online again. Would you buy a car without trying it first?

First One Great, Second Hard as a Rock
1

We purchased a queen size Casper and enjoyed it very much. We decided to move up to a king size, and Casper allowed us to switch out with just the difference in cost, but it would take away the 100 day guarantee. The new mattress came out of the box hard as a rock. We have now had this one for several months, and kept hoping that it would soften over time, but it hasn’t at all. Both of us are having aches and pains we’ve never had before, and are at the point of having to purchase another mattress to be able to get a decent night’s sleep.

Poor delivery and customer service
1

I needed a mattress and was looking for a good, solid option that could be delivered in a timely manner. I ordered something on another site–but learned that the mattress would take 14 business days to arrive!–too long. So I went over to Casper and saw that mattresses arrive between 5-7 business days after order. Could this be true? I chatted with someone just to be sure, and was told yes. GREAT! I immediately cancelled the other ordered and ordered a mattress, box spring, and bed frame from Casper, comforted by the knowledge that the delivery of my order was imminent. The bed frame arrived in five business days. Great! The box spring arrived in seven business days. Great! The mattress? The day before the mattress was promised to arrive (seven business after my order) I was told I could expect the mattress a full week AFTER what I was told. 5-7 business days? The expectation set on their website and confirmed by their employee? A total lie. And, to top it all off, I was given less that 24 hours notice that the mattress would NOT be arriving when promised. I called Casper. Surely they would find a way to make this right. I knew there was likely nothing they could do to get me my mattress–I would have to cancel the order and find another mattress that could be delivered IMMEDIATELY–but I figured they would try to make up for the fact that they put me in the stressful situation of scrambling to find a mattress store that could do same-day delivery. A discount on my order, maybe a discount on future orders… something. NOPE! I talked to three people at Casper, including a supervisor, who politely told me that the difficult situation they’d put me in was none of their concern, they didn’t care. They canceled the order, callous to the pain they caused by their communication mistake and their failure to communicate their delay. I’m very disappointed in Casper. If Casper isn’t able to take responsibility in fixing their mistakes, I wonder what other ways they’re failing to maintain integrity.

So far, so good!
4

I have only had the Casper and the foundation for 6 days but I have found it extremely comfortable. I am not waking up with back pain and it’s very comfy sleeping on my sides so far as my hips do not hurt. I am also enjoying that it is not very bouncy like my old mattress. Movement on one side does not seem to disturb the other side of the bed.

Easy!
4

Process of getting and assembling the bed was easy! Great customer service! The bed has been super comfy 🙂

It’s nice for the money
4

I bought it on a whim. My girlfriend didn’t like the mattress I had and would only stay with me on certain nights. So I bought the Casper. She seems to like it. Doesn’t matter to me I’m not picky. I’ve had it about a year. We got a tear in the fitted sheet and no questions asked had a replacement sheet set warranted.

Great for sleep - not for intimacy
3

Great bed for sleep. Forget about being intimate though. There is little resistance so it makes it challenging.

Okay so far!
3

The unboxing experience was really exciting! Still adjusting to the foam mattress. My boyfriend and I have some back pain here and there but overall comfortable. Casper suggests giving the mattress 30 days for adjustment so that’s what we are doing. Assuming it’ll get better!

It sinks
2

The mattress. Sinks on one side. No matter your weight or high; I’m 139 lb and it sank…

Kills your back
1

So I got this mattress for the amazing price.. well you get what you pay for. I should have returned it before 90 days and got my money back but I kept thinking I was still adjusting to it. Not the case, after sleeping on one for a year I can tell you it’s horribly firm and I wake up after sleeping 7 hours with back pain every day. Forget sleeping in because after 8 hours the pain becomes unbearable. I have no back issues but this thing tears up my back every night. Now after wasting that money I’m saving up for a real mattress..

Amazingly Comfortable
4

Unboxing the mattress was easy and fun. At first I didn’t notice a difference in how I slept. However, after a week long trip where I slept on a non Casper mattress I noticed a big difference when I crawled back on to my Casper. I slept soo much easier and better than on other mattresses.

So far so good
4

giving this bed a 4 out of 5 might seem a little stingy given that I have nothing bad to say about the mattress, but we’ve only had it just less than 2 weeks now. My husband loves the mattress, but honestly he can sleep on anything. I have numerous back problems and was waking up sore every morning for the last four years. The first couple of mornings I had some soreness in my upper back but that has largely disappeared. I am a side sleeper and tend to toss and turn throughout the night. Since buying this mattress I’ve found myself even sleeping on my back and my stomach (comfortably!). My tossing and turning hasn’t disturbed my husbands sleep. I also haven’t experienced any night sweats since buying this mattress, which was relatively common with my last mattress. We have been sleeping without a mattress protector to test the mattress but I am planning on buying the Casper mattress protector. For what it’s worth, I am 5’8″ and weigh 130 lbs and my husband is about 160 lbs

Casper Review
4

When I first got this bed, I thought it was a little too hard for me. Now, about a month has gone by and I couldn’t be happier with it. I am able to get my full nights sleep. I hardly move around at night, if at all.

The OG Casper
3

I think this mattress is a bit too firm for us.

Split Decision
3

Delivery was very early, but efficient and friendly. One of us slept fine, but the other could not get a full night’s sleep, even after a week. Will need to return this, unfortunately.

Too High Expectations?
2

I was all setup with a new Casper mattress, duvet, sheets and pillows and I didn’t have the greatest nights sleep and I had a crick in my neck. I also realized I went to bed too late and have other associated problems with sleeping. I look forward to breaking the gear in and getting a better nights sleep.

Comfortable
1

When your spouse moves out of bed, you do not feel anything

Really like it so far
4

The unboxing experience was different, not enjoyable, but not difficult either. My wife and I are finally able to sleep through the night without so much tossing and turning. Very comfortable!

No regrets!
4

I can honestly say I have slept soundly through the night each night I sleep on my Casper mattress. It was truly easy to have delivered and set up, literally just rolling it out. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a new quality mattress and it’s amazing the difference it makes in your sleep and health. Very happy with my purchase.

Nice product
4

Unboxing mattress was really cool. In my mind I thought the mattress would be a little softer. I’m definitely more happy with the Casper mattress. I wish it was softer.

This is about the pillow
3

I loved the pillow in the beginning but it tends to flatten over time.

Ok mattress
3

It’s ok mattress. I travel a lot on business and have been on many a mattress. Marriotts and holiday inns all have nice mattress too. I’m ok with the Casper but find it no big Casper cloud thing to sleep on. My wife thinks it may be too hard. Only had it for a month so the verdict is still out.

Weak and soft
2

Unfortunately there is no universal mattress. I wanted to like it, but, after waking up 30 days after i got it with more and more back pain, i decided at 3am that enough is enough! If you have back problems, this is not for you. It’s too soft and it got even softer. It has no support on the edges, I actually fell of the bed once trying to seat by the corner. Save yourself some pain and save the company money and look for something that says at least medium firm.

Don't let convenience of online delivery, marketing and star ratings fool you
1

I had my Casper for more than a year now and I should say I’m very disappointed in it. This thing doesn’t breathe. I have been sleeping on it for about a year now and I have to say compare to my IKEA spring mattress it has not offered much extra comfort instead it has brought constant night sweat to my life. Changing sheets, duvet and duvet covers haven’t helped either. I really trusted the quality of the mattress therefore I never thought the issue I’m facing is with the mattress but now I tried a different one and feel like I’ve got my sleep back. Very disappointed.

So far really good!!
4

The unboxing experience was different, I wouldn’t say it was enjoyable, however, it was not difficult at all, just different from what I am used to. My wife and I really like the mattress, we like the firmness of it, but its not too firm, and not too soft. It would have been nice if pillows were included with the mattress :). Overall, we are happy so far.

Mattress
4

The mattress was a little hard to start but we have really enjoyed it now that we have gotten used to it. I noticed the difference when we went away this weekend and slept on a traditional mattress. I was sore after this weekend but a couple nights back on the Casper mattress and I feel great again. We were able to upgrade to a King mattress which helps a great deal when we have our little boys show up in the room. It’s been a great purchase.

It’s not bad so far, but the smell is still there.
4

The unboxing was an experience. It, for the lack of a better word, “inflated” in about two minutes. However, a couple corners never came in quite right. Initially I had very back back pains from previous mattress and heavy sagging. Most of it has gone away. Though if I sleep on my back, it still hurts a little getting up. If I wake up on my side, no issues. My biggest concern is going to be the longevity of it. How long before the sagging starts in on this? I’m only 185lbs at 6’1”, so it’s not under heavy stress. I guess we’ll see.

Very firm
3

I like a firm mattress but this one is too firm. Good support for my hips but makes my shoulders numb. I have to add padding under my shoulders to be able to sleep on it. It is good with heat transfer.

Too stiff
2

Title says it all

Way to stiff
2

Very disappointed my back hurts every morning I thought this would be a great mattress but its not for me

Hard
1

There I see no “getting used to” this mattress and am very disappointed.

very good mattress.
4

Absolutely amazed on the efficiency of shipping and how fast it was to set up. Giving the mattress 4 stars for now but definitely recommending it to people.

It's hard to find a mattress that is comfortable for an older person....like me! But all those little aches and pains pretty much melt away on the Caspar.
4

I want to say that customer service was really exceptional. There was a snafu with the delivery, but that was quickly and graciously resolved by the kind folks at the other end of the line at Caspar. Yes, I would recommend and have recommended Caspar to friends…several have been over recently to check it out!

Could be firmer for me
4

The unboxing was interesting. The mattress is comfortable but I wish there had been an option for a firmer version

Neat lol
3

After 5 nights, no noticeable improvement for me. Partner says its comfortable enough for him.

did not work out
2

Started out really good but after a few week , my back was really hurting had to return the mattress, so far the return process has been a bit of a pain

Good mattress but not for everyone
2

Early 30’s and never had back pain until sleeping on this mattress. Wife loves it though. I even endurded it for a few weeks hoping would get better but never did. Guess you can’t make a mattress for everyone…

Never had back pain until now
1

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT get this mattress. I’m 29 and never had back pain in my life. I got the Casper and immediately got back and neck pain. Every single day. Worst bed on the market.

Shoulders not hurting!
4

I got a Casper about a ten days ago, and it has really been helpful for my shoulders and my neck. I’ve played volleyball for years and my shoulders have always given me issues, since I’m a side and stomach sleeper. Im comfortable sleeping on my stomach without a pillow because Casper is so comfortable, yet supportive. I am so thankful to wake up hardly at all during the night. Thanks Casper!

Casper mattress review
4

I do like the mattress. It took me about a week though to get used to it because at first it was a little on the firm side for me. The delivery was nice and easy to set up. Yes I would recommend to a friend.

It's good, but not as good as I thought it would be
4

I bought the Casper. My lower back always feels great. I’m a side sleeper and don’t move much when I sleep. I wake up after about 5-6 hours with a sore shoulder from sleeping on one side too long. I’m reluctant to spend an additional $900 for the Wave.

Casper first night
3

The bed unboxing was pretty easy. But have to be carefull with the knife while trying to cut open the plastic wrapped around. The bed was firm and getting use the to the foam bed encapsulating you is an intresting expereince.Couldnt get a deep sleep due to the smell comming of the new bed will need to see how it does after a few days.

Great for a year or so, then breaks down
2

Our Casper mattress was great out of the box and lasted well for over a year, but somewhere along year two it started to leave my wife and I with back pain in the mornings. Now entering into year 3 there are VERY noticeable “valleys” where we both lay and it leaves us in a kind of concave sleep position. Initial feel/sleep, packaging, and everything else was great, but longevity is a serious issue with this mattress. Purchased in 2015.

Ehhhhhhhh... it’s ok I guess....
2

It’s alright… nothing to brag about… it felt great the first couple nights, because it was somethin new… but after a couple nights on it, it wasn’t much better than my original mattress… especially for the cost… more than likely gonna send it back..

All firmness lost after 8 Months
1

After a satisfied first 3-4 months, at less than a year I’m now an unhappy customer. I’m 180 lbs and my Casper mattress now has a giant soft spot right down the center. It no longer provides any support and is not comfortable to sleep on. This is not as advertised and I’m really unhappy about it. I certainly won’t be buying a Casper ever again!

Firm but comfortable. There is an adjustment period. Have slept on it for 5 nights so far. I like it though my wife as less sure so far
4

My wife and 28 year old daughter set it up while I was away on a business trip

good start
4

My back needs to get used to it, but overall very comfortable. The smell of the foam is pretty strong, which I was told would not be an issue, but it is. Hopefully it will go away after the first week as it’s cold and we have to leave the windows open.

It's good but a bit firm
4

First, set up was easy and actually fun….thanks! Hope to get use to the firmness. Definitely like that motion is not transferred. Let’s see how it feels after a week.

Different, in a good way and comfortable.
4

Opening and setting up the mattress and foundation were very simple and, while there was a slight chemical odor sometimes associated with foam, it dissipated pretty fast. The sleep experience isn’t what I expected, it’s more of a latex kind of thing rather than memory foam so you feel more like you’re sleeping on top of something rather than sinking into something. It’s not a bad thing, it’s kind of like lying on a trampoline but soft. I sleep well through the night and wake up rested and without any sleep related pain, so not much more that you can expect from a mattress.

Impressed with comfort but new odor left me nauseous and sleepless.
3

Went good.

First night disappointed
2

This is our initial impression after one night – the mattress was more firm than we expected, and neither one of us had a good nights rest. The firmness had our bodies on edge and never relaxed during the night. The brochure says to give your body 30 days to adjust, but I suppose my body would adjust to sleeping on a cot after 30 days too. I was disappointed the first night on the mattress wasn’t more comfortable as so many of the testimonials have stated. We’ll give it 30 days to give time for our bodies will adjust. The jury is still out. The unboxing was a breeze. Lot’s of plastic around the mattress though… Is this recyclable?

not very different than my 10 year old foam mattress
2

i wanted to try Casper because of the hype and i thought my foam mattress was bringing too soft. either im tripping or the casper and my old mattress feel just about the same :-/

Casper is too firm
1

The Casper mattress while it seems unique and the new cool thing. It doesn’t deliver on comfort. Woke up 7 days in a row with my back and shoulders hurting. My wife had the same experience.

Good Mattress
4

I open the mattress 5 days ago and it inflated quickly. I also purchased the mattress cover and the pillow. Did not purchase the sheet set though, due to the price. I have 100% cotton 500 thread count Egyptian sheets that l put on the mattress and pillow. The mattress does not appear to be as cool as l expected and I keep my home at 66° F . The firmness is very comfortable for me and is great in every position so far. I need some time to really give an accurate review. But so far so good after 5 nights.

Pretty impressive for the price!

Even after seeing the videos, we were still shocked at how the process worked! I would like to see Casper give more specific instructions – such as labeling the sides and/head, foot of the mattress, as it’s difficult to with a king.

Very comfortable, little soft for me but good

I’m enjoying the mattress, my wife really likes it, she likes softer mattresses, I do prefer little harder, but good overall

Very good

I did enjoy the unboxing experience, especially the whooshing sound as it expanded. The instructions were straightforward. It compares very favourably to my two latest mattresses, the newer of which I returned after a month. The Casper felt comfortable to me right away and continues to grow on me.

I LOVE MY CASPER! My Wife, not so much...

I’ve never slept so deeply in my life, this is the best mattresses I’ve EVER slept on. My wife has been waking up with serious back pain, so we might have to return the mattress.

Hard
2

I loved my previous bed. However it had gotten old and was hot. The Casper was fun to unwrap and comfortable but the bed and pillows are hard. Most nights I end up off the pillows all together. My neck and back hurt.

Think that something is wrong with my mattress.

Un boxing the mattress was easy, My problem is that I wake up every morning with back pain, Even when I am sleeping I feel that I am laying on a rock! I am suffering from back pain is unbearable, I wanted to returned it but my husband didn’t want to go through that. Most of the time I sleep in my sofa because sometime I cannot even get up cause of the pain.. Just the other day my husband was complaining of back pain. Have gone to the Doctors and they did all kind of test all were negative. The Doctor said that I have to change my Mattress cause is not doing me any good, I have two years with it, When I get up from bed the times that I sleep on it I get out of bed in slow motion cause of the pain. it has not been easy, Not only that my husband bought three mattress for all the bed in the house , so no matter where I lay down I have the same pain, I have slept on other mattress and I feel fine, Maybe the mattress is to hard. I wish there was something I could so that I can get a “Good Night Sleep”.

A cloud of bricks

This has to be the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on. I with pain in my hip, back, and legs. As much as I wanted to like this mattress I just could not. It’s very stiff and caused me to toss all night long. Will be scheduling a return.

Excellent

Inflating experience was interesting. All the air in the room was sucked into it. Had dreams first night of ghosts floating around my room.

Best Sleep in a Long Time

The mattress was very comfortable. Slept better than i’ve slept in a long time. The temperature was really comfortable as well.

Casper Mattress
4

I like how soft the material is; the bed so far has been treating me well!

Very well made
4

It arrived quickly and set-up was super simple. The mattress sleeps slightly firmer than I thought it would, but I am adjusting well.

I am not sure yet, but my husband loves it!

The unboxing experience was fun and unique! When the box first arrived I was amazed and wondering how a mattress could fit in that size box? It was amazing how the mattress sort of rolled out of the box and formed in its own. My husband had been having back pain for months Before we started to do some research on purchasing a new mattress. He is 6’3” 250 lbs and I am 5’1 125 lbs. And I didn’t have them so that I’m not mean I’m time to time so when you read about that Casper mattress we ordered and couldn’t wait to get it. Delivery was quick and it has now been one week we have been creeping on this new mattress, but I have woken up now, everyday since with lower back pain in addition to shoulder pain sometimes. I think it may be too soft or maybe I am just not used to sleeping on this type of material. It may just take some getting used to. However, my husband says “ he has gotten the best nights sleep he has had in months and he loves it. I am trying to love it. I am not giving up on it yet, as I said it’s only been a week. I am so happy he’s getting a good nights sleep finally and so I would hate to have to give up this mattress because now, it’s me not getting good night’s sleep. One other thing that concerns me is whether or not this mattress will hold up and for how long, considering my husband’s size

Way Too Hard
2

I read so many reviews before buying this bed and most everyone talks about how amazingly comfortable it is. I even had a women on the sidewalk when the bed was being delivered stop to say that they just got a Casper and love it. But I really don’t like this bed. I find it incredibly uncomfortable because it is very hard. After I’ve been sleeping on it I’ve had this terrible hip pain when I walk, and I find that my hips are always falling asleep when I’m laying in bed. I think this is because I’m a side sleeper and the bed is so hard, so it’s putting pressure on my hips. Haven’t figured out what I’m going to do yet because I really hate the idea of sending the bed back. That seems really wasteful. However, if the bed is causing me pain all the time, maybe that’s the best thing to do.

Disappointed

I will be returning the bed ASAP. I didn’t think it was possible to be too firm and have no support. The first impression I got was sitting on it fast out of excitement for the new hyped up bed and I litteraly bottom out where a could feel my but hit the slat support. Granted Im No shrimp. 6’4″ 230 but still. Sleeping on the side or back left us tossing and turning and waking up extremely sore and stiff. The bed itself seamed under size. About 9″ thick not 10 and the bed left about 1.5″ space at the head board compared to my last 2 king size beds. Hopefully they stand up to the return policy. This will be the 2nd “bed in a box” in 2 months and fear my home will be a revolving door for foam mattress’s at this point

hard as a rock…

hard, slept about 3 fitful hours, woke up with a screaming headache. I am returning this bed. Its horrible.

Not exactly...but Its working
4

The only complaint I have with the mattress is that it’s not as firm as I’d like it to be and I got the firm one. I’m getting quality sleep since I’ve had. I love this mattress I just hope it last.

Pretty decent mattress

Great for price.

Comfortable and quiet

We bought the Casper mattress to replace a 10 year old, relatively high end pillow top pocket spring mattress. The Casper is much more comfortable than the old mattress and what is surprising is that the bed doesn’t seem to wobble and creek any where near as much with the Casper mattress. I suppose realistically the comfort level is comparable to a brand new high end spring mattress, but I have never liked the idea of sleeping on springs, so I am glad that there are now mattresses available that offer the same or better comfort with less bulk and weight. My only criticism of the Casper is that for the first week or so we could smell quite a mild glue odor while we were in bed. It seems that the Casper does have some off-gassing to do, but you only notice it once it gets warm.

Great delivery, a solution for some, not all.

The mattress was easy to handle in a box. Our last king size was latex, quite a bit heavier and tough to navigate stair corners. My wife (105 lbs) found it a bit too firm. We added a 4” mattress topper which helped. I weigh 175 lbs and like the firmness. It is medium firm.

I do like it but I wish it had a pillow top for more cush

Yes it was easy to set up and unbox . Im having a hard time with my back right now so all is to be determined

Not ready to review

I have the mattress about one week. I find it too soft but I am giving it some time.

Sending the mattress back!
1

I was very excited to open my new Casper mattress. I have heard ads about it on the radio for several years. I waited until black Friday to make my purchase. The mattress shipped very quickly and my wife and I opened the box the day it arrived. I was looking forward to a wonderful night sleep but was immediately disappointed when I laid down on it. We decided to sleep on the mattress a couple nights. We both were very disappointed at how uncomfortable and hard the mattress was. I travel for a living and have slept on a lot of hotel beds. This mattress would be at the top of my most uncomfortable. I’m sorry to write such a poor review.

First it smells, aired it out for 2 days and still smells like chemicals

First it smells, aired it out for 2 days and still smells like chemicals. So far it makes me lower back hurt when I sleep flat. Have to try and stay on side but I move a lot at night

The mattress is better than most mattresses I’ve slept on

Unboxing the mattress was fun and easy! I’ve had it less than a month, but sleeping on it has alleviated much of my hip and lower body pain. I work a physically taxing job, and was always sore when i woke up in the morning. That has been decreased by half just from the few weeks I’ve had it. My partner likes a firmer mattress, but i think it’s just fine! Overall I am pleased with it, and hope the benefits continue.

Overall great mattress, slightly firmer than expected
4

Delivery of the mattress was perfect; very cool to see a queen sized bed come out of a box. The mattress is very comfortable. The first couple of nights I was uncertain because it was firmer than expected (and definitely firmer than my 15 year old mattress), but after about 3 nights, I’ve been loving it! Sleeping like one of those glorious babies that doesn’t wake up until like 8:00am cause they’re just happy to stay in their crib.

Great product! Well designed.

This product was purchased for the wife after trying 5 different mattress toppers of varied composition & range of firmness. The unboxing was a good experience for all elements of the product. Metal frame & foundation are very easy to assemble for a quick set up – both are well designed. Materials are good / adequate. The Casper itself has a firm feel, making it superior to other designer mattress concepts for anyone with spine injury (old injuries – in this instance) or a lower back that acts up from time to time; I would only recommend a Casper for someone with a back injury for this reason. A mattress like the Casper ‘Wave’ would probably be the best choice for someone like my son who has multiple spine injuries & disability. He tested it for a half-hour & found it comfortable. He has trouble relaxing & getting to sleep in a reasonable amount of time. The Casper is made very well, good materials & quality for the mattress itself. The quality of the sheets & mattress protector are very good. The mattress easily rolled out & regained its shape very quickly. The only reason it gets the 4 instead of the five star rating: Top left corner to lower right corner did not retain the shape completely to the very outer edge of the corner. (Shape – not entirely uniform) We are very pleased & recommend this product. C. Young

Foamy soft but firm

Well, the box is 92 Ibs. And I live in an elevated Beachhouse. The box material at the hand holes was not strong enough to support my effort to bring it up the stairs.

Hard to say at this time

The unboxing was easy.

Best Night's Sleep Ever
5

It is not uncommon to wake up in the morning and be in the same position we fell asleep in. The new problem is the ocassional body ache that comes with not moving! My wife and I are primarily side sleepers where this bed supports every inch of our body from head to toe regardless the position we fall asleep in! Thank You!

Amazing bed
